Bringing you fries on a Friday just feels SO right, especially when it means these Five Spice Baked Sweet Potato Fries with a Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce. Ever since adding potatoes back into my diet, I am one happy girl. To truly tune into what my body is telling me and what it is asking for has been a game changer in navigating food and IBD. It hasn’t been easy, and it’s come with a lot of time and a lot of hardwork, but it feels good to finally be listening to my own needs rather than thinking I need to eat a certain way or live a certain way based on what other people are doing and what other people believe.
These Baked Sweet Potato Fries are now a staple for me, and they are served best with this Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce. I love how sweet potatoes can be made either sweet or savory. I just think potatoes are so versatile, no?! So curious to hear what is your favorite way to make them! Right now, I personally can’t stop making these five spiced baked sweet potato fries, and for good reason.
While fried foods will probably never be my stomach’s friend, these Five Spice Baked Sweet Potato Fries with a Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce are roasted in the oven, not fried, and are a dream come true. When you heat your oven to 400, it’ll help give the baked sweet potato fries the perfect crispiness on the outside while being cooked through on the inside.
I am a big fan of the flavor combination of sweet potatoes and maple, and I think this Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce just brings it all together. Bu, if you don’t have sweet potatoes on hand, you can definitely use regular russet potatoes and it will be just as good! And, if you’d rather air fry these fries, go for it! I definitely want to try making them in my air fryer, so if you beat me too it, let me know how it goes!
